WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe….
1. In one God, who is the creator and sustainer of all things, eternally existing and living in perfection in the Trinitarian persons of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
2. In the Holy Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, which are the complete revelation of God’s will for salvation. These are inspired by God, without error in the original writings, infallible for His purposes, and sufficient for the life and work of every believer.
3. In Jesus Christ, the Son of God, born of the Virgin Mary, crucified under Pontius Pilate, Who died on a cross for our sins, but rose from the dead on the 3rd day. He ascended into heaven and is now interceding for us at the right hand of the Father, until He comes again bodily, visibly and gloriously to establish the promised Kingdom of God. He is fully God and fully man, existing from eternity to eternity.
4. In the Holy Spirit, who like the Father and the Son, is responsible for the creation of all things, who proceeds from the Father and the Son to regenerate and empower the believer in Jesus for godly life and service.
5. That God created Adam and Eve in His image, but they sinned when tempted by Satan. In union with Adam, human beings are sinners by nature and by choice, alienated from God, and under His wrath. Only through God’s saving work in Jesus Christ can we be rescued, reconciled and renewed.
6. In Salvation for the believer, which is enabled by God’s grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone. This salvation is secured by faith in the person and work of Jesus, and not by our good works; yet genuine salvation is not barren, being normally evidenced by a changed life which exhibits the fruit and the gifts of the Spirit.
7. In the Church, which is the body of Christ on earth, existing as one holy and universal family, manifested in countless local churches, being made up of all those in every age and place who have believed in Jesus as Savior. We believe that baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed according to the Lord’s command, yet not to be considered a means for obtaining salvation.
8. That it is the duty of Christian believers to live in a manner that glorifies God. This should be reflected in personal holiness, a commitment to evangelism and discipleship, and a connection to the fellowship of believers.
9. That Jesus Christ shall soon return to raise the faithful from the dead and to reign on the earth according to God’s promises and covenants to Abraham and to David.
10. That there shall be a day of divine judgement for all the living and the dead. The righteous shall inherit eternal life and enjoy God forever and ever. The wicked and unbelieving shall be separated from God, being cast into the lake of fire to suffer everlasting, conscious punishment.
